To everyone who is opposed to socialism...

Now hear this: socialism is INEVITABLE in the near future. Not because of some weird lefty philosophy, as some of you may imagine, but because advancements in AI and automation will soon result in robots... yes, I said robots... taking nearly every single job that is currently being performed by human beings.

I mean exactly what I just said: NEARLY EVERY JOB. School teachers, secretaries, factory workers, truck drivers, taxicabs, waiters in restaurants, physics professors, computer programmers, cable TV installers, mail carriers, delivery drivers (including FedEx, UPS, etc.), ditch diggers, construction workers... ARE WE LISTENING YET..? Every single one of those jobs and MANY more will soon be replaced by robots possessing sophisticated AI's... who will be more than capable of replacing their human counterparts.

No, this is not science fiction. This is futurism. The near future, in fact. This is an intelligent prediction, based upon actual developments and actual trends. This is your reality.

When all of that happens, more than a hundred million Americans will be out of work. How do you propose we take care of all of those people, hmmm..? If nobody can earn any money, then how will they feed themselves? How will they pay their rent..? How will they take care of their children..? How will they buy the things that they need to enjoy comfortable and happy lives..?

The inevitable answer will be socialism. So you had better start getting used to the idea, because it will soon be unavoidable. If anyone still doubts what I'm saying here, then let's have this conversation again in the year 2035. I'll still be here... and so will most of you.

And so will the robots. Count on it.

I have to agree, the current system won't work with the ways things are going nowadays.

The corporatocracy will just bioengineer a virus to kill off all the "useless eaters" who are no longer necessary in the new automated economy. They'll have the antidote for themselves and their subservient quislings of course. Who knows, maybe Covid was a test run, though it probably leaked before it was quite ready for testing. They just need to get a virus that spreads more quickly, has a longer period of asymptomatic transmissibility, and a couple orders of magnitude more lethal, and they could wipe out 80% of the population (with the "right" people protected of course) and still have everything they want and need, thanks to automation. They'd rather do that, I think, than let us have the socialism you describe. That would be un-American and un-Godly, after all... >:(

Your assertion relies on the belief that the population will never fight back.

In the scenario I described the unvaccinated population would be too dead to do much fighting...

Okay, so I believe that we're headed for inevitable socialism... whereas Cylnar believes that we're headed toward
a horrific dystopia, in which two-thirds of the population have been needlessly murdered.

I guess we'll have to see which prediction comes true.

I say if there is some plot going on it will be something most people won't be expecting.

Will Never

Agreed.   Many countries have already experimented with pilot UBI programs.  Not us of course.

Corporate Dems: Bullshitting America

The battle over the infrastructure bill continues. Today on MSNBC, corporate-sponsored Democrats were smirking at the camera and explaining why their agenda is the only agenda that matters. Predictably, they tossed a few thinly-veiled attacks against the progressive caucus in Congress. And of course, they made sure to employ that hallowed phrase "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." Which, when translated, actually means: "Stop whining, America. Just be happy with whatever measly scraps the rich men throw you from their table. I mean, it's better than nothing... right? Now get back to work in the fields and pick some cotton." You can bet that these slimy goons are going to become lobbyists, right after their term in Congress is over.

Now just look at Stephanie Ruhle grinning away, while this corporate stooge spews his worthless late-stage-capitalist dogma.

Awwww... she's so CUTE!!! C'mon, isn't Steffie cute? Just look at those happy little cheekbones! Look at the grinning little former Credit Suisse investment counselor! She's just so goddamned HAPPY! I bet there's a wet spot on her chair.

Ya know, there was a time when I actually liked MSNBC. That was before I recognized that at least half of their on-air hosts are former Republicans, and the other half are worthless corporate cocksuckers. They only have ONE host on MSNBC who's worth a damn anymore... and that's Mehdi Hassan. But nobody really listens to him because he's... ya know... an Iranian 'n' shit. So I guess he can stay, for now.

Cable news sucks.  >:(

Well, I'm sure cute little Steffie doesn't want to appear to be unfair and unbalanced.
So today, she invited progressive champion Katie Porter onto her show...

Hmm... okay, what's wrong? Steffie isn't gushing and grinning today, like she was yesterday.
Actually, she looks sort of like she just found a lion in her bedroom. Or something. Scared.

I really love Katie Porter. It's impossible to intimidate this chick. Lord knows they've tried.

Just keep voting for progressives, folks. We're finally beginning to scare the bejesus out of corporate America.
Naturally, there's going to be a huge battle in the near future.... it's expected. But we can win this, in time.
