Tessera over weps5 and PV, heres why..

Why? I have been here for a short time, was on the other sites far longer, heres what I see...

1. The other sites are DEAD.. PV is dead, the only posts there are UP updates or a big mod that hasn't changed other then it has updated to latest UP mod.

2. Ive read all the "War" posts I could find as I found them fun to read.. Tessera is guilty of going against the norm and saying his opinion.. and he dosent hold back..

3. Ive seen the difference that started the war.. they both claim to simply "fix" the game.. TGP does, and nothing more, UP is a mod that adds a bunch of things at the will of its creator, calls it a patch.. then all major mods have to re-do there massive mods to fix to new UP.. then come the error comments not from there mods, from the mod or "patch" notice...://planet-vampire.com/forum/index.php?topic=5839.0 (replace ) thats the latest UP see all the errors, then of course theres steams website on same patch..

4. Ive been here a short time, all other sites said Tess is evil, wont help, thinks of himself.. etc other crap like that.. I just joined and asked a few questions, look at my post history and the answers I got back, I got full technical support here, now I know not to always expect that, Tess is passed this game (Its a old game) and has better things to do, but still took the time to not only explain, but include graphics so I fully understood.. no other Bloodlines site even cared like that (Because Im new and just starting, I guess they figure if your not one of the big names your not worth it)

Those other sites have that "click" thing this site doesnt.

5. Everything Ive read about Tessera is false, Ive spent allot of time on this site.. before I made my first post, Ive seen his posts.. nothing in any of his posts suggests the crap the other sites say is true..


In conclusion, heres what I see (and have seen.. reading other sites) happened..

Tessera disagreed with a idea... a mod vs a patch.. two paths happened his and ups (though I read about the original guy, dont remember his name.. irrelevant now as he didnt stick around)

Tessera didnt play along with the majority, so he was banned (though I read many posts in google cashe about people wanting him back (and were attacked) for asking) for going against the norm.

It sucks that theres even sides, but I read how it happened.. The "Click" decided they didnt agree with Tessera and he was cast out for having his own opinion and creating a true patch..

I posted this before and I'll post it again... A "Patch" is something that fixes the game.. it doesnt add anything, it doesnt add add NPCs, move NPCs add new props.. add new animations, add "Hellcats" (I read about that and how weps saw in code and added a actual "Hellcat" until this site called him out, then he changed it to the forklift thing lol funny) it "Patches" the original game.. period..

Tessera has done nothing wrong but offend the "click" of people behind weps5 and the sad thing is TPG is the only true "patch" (read patch that does nothing but fix the game) also I tested the theory that files were added to weps5 UP that were unmodified and added to make the patch bigger.. and it is true, there the same size as the original files (note I saw that post here and decided to see if that was true, this was before I ever posted here, it was one of the things that made my mind up to be active here as Tessera and shu(?) were right.. there a bunch of un-altered files) It helped prove Tessera point about the UP, something I could check for myself)

Anyway, this is everything that I have noticed from all the stuff I have read and seen.. I go by actual experience rather then hearsay or listening to what people "tell" me I should believe..

The end result is that there is a patch that fixes the game that most mods dont use, they continue to use a mod with a misleading name that adds new problems (see link above) that constantly changes.. and will inhibit and new good big mods.. personally, Ive been looking at the codes, tutorials,, etc.. and though I dought I will ever add a massive rehaul, I thing I CAN add at least a quest.. Ive been testing my skills on that and Im slowly getting it.. It will me a TGP mod, and I guess will only be offered here when/if I can do it (but I actually see how its modded, and Im getting it) though I wanna add a few texture mods first, which will also only be offered here..

Granted Im nothing yet.. havent done anything yet (but check my re-tex pics here, with Tessera's advice, wait til you see them) anyway, as heated as this war is (which it is what it is as a new bloodlines player and new modler) Its clear to me after reading all side what has happened, and for that to Tessera I say Im sorry that you did what others didnt and you got crucified for it, it wasnt fair and now its caused the game to never fully developed into big mods as it could, its a shame as this is one of the funnest games Ive ever played, I fucking LOVE this game!! Just read the posts on the "Big" mods out.. 50% of the time the authors are not sure if its somthing they did, or something the UP added..

Your post was little hard to read... but I got the gist. And you are quite correct.

Most forum boards are dominated by mob mentality and group-think. Most of those people are conformists. They are so hung up on seeking the approval of STRANGERS on the internet, that they really don't care whether or not they are doing the right thing. We can see that type of behavior all over the web.

Let's say that we have a room filled with 100 people. And 99 of those people fit the above description.

But one of those people does not. That person is a free-thinker and a non-conformist.

And then, that one person begins to say things which are very true... but also very much against the beliefs of the other 99 people.

The inevitable outcome is that the other 99 people will end up despising the single person amongst them who was willing to do the right thing. They really don't care if he or she was right... they only care that this one lone wolf is going against their silly little status quo. Conformity is more important to them than logic and reason.

There's your explanation, in a nutshell. They're the sheeple. But I'm the lone wolf. And they hate me for it. C'est la vie.

5. Everything Ive read about Tessera is false...

"Some" of it is true tough.

• He can be opinionated.
• He can be abrasive.
• He tells things as they are.
• He's not a conformist
• He's proud of his work.

Hell, just considering his artistic accomplishments, he has a right to be. If i could do half the stuff he does I'd be too. 

But what really annoys the hell out of me is just how low wesp5's posse will go to make sure people (those who don't know any better) think they have no other choice than his bloated PoS of a mod.

Sometimes people hate what they don't understand, and expect everybody else to hate it too, personally
I think that is what most of the PV crowd are all about. Some of those guys use and like the True Patch,
but it's hard to get them too admit it.

As far as modding Bloodlines using the UP, don't even bother. As you said he changes it so often that the
modders have to update their mods every-time he changes shit around.

The TP is a totally different story. The mod I have been working on is being built around the TPG, and it actually
works with the vanilla version. That alone should tell people that the TP doesn't change any files that dont need
to be changed.

Ye-ha, a new modder jumping on to the wagon  that's awesome dude. You can learn a lot here just by reading
old posts. I have learned much about modding a difficult game like Bloodlines, just from reading old posts by
Tessera and Acrimonious, among others and Tessera has a wealth of knowledge about VtMB. The coolest part,
is everybody is willing to share.

I won't add anything new to the topic but I still feel the need to rant People that frequent most of the forums (not just the ones related to video games, but also the ones where there are supposed to be mature people, professionals like ie. electrical engineers) are just dumb sheep or shitheads who need to be right about everything (and they are never right - they just imagine they are). It's truly sad and very often annoying to the point of going berserk and punching someones head through a brick wall.

It reminds me of someone who said something more or less like this - until I used the internet I had no idea there were so many idiots in the world.

I don't know why there are people like this, people like wesp5 nor do I know where they come from. I do know however that the world would be a very peaceful and pleasant place to live in if it weren't for those sheeple.
And sure as hell I do regret the time lost on playing bloodlines with wesp5's mod. I just didn't realize there was such a great alternative to it at the time.

I'm 110% with Tessera, I never liked the unofficial patch, which also trying to impose its vision and changes in the game as canon.

But there is no "vision" with regard to Wesp's nonsense. He simply panders to a community
of adolescents (PlanetVampire), who routinely ask him to add all sorts of unwarranted and
inappropriate content to his "unofficial patch." And in turn, all of those little bits of sabotage
get imposed upon every single end user of Wesp's garbage.

No vision... no justification... just a clique of overgrown teenagers, dictating a bunch of silly,
amateurish and downright idiotic nonsense to Herr Wesp -- the PV people pleaser.

Any adult with half a brain in their head would stay as far away from that community and their
so-called "patch" as possible. Unless you enjoy seeing Troika's masterpiece being forcibly devolved
into some kind of shallow-minded kiddie kraptastic. Which is precisely what Wesp is guilty of doing.
