True Patch Gold Edition: Critical Hotfix Information

In addition to the basic True Patch Gold Edition (or "TPG" for short), it is highly recommended that all TPG users download and install the most recent Hotfix for the TPG.

The purpose of a TPG Hotfix is to repair additional small bugs and glitches that were not dealt with in the basic True Patch Gold Edition.

If you are a TPG user, then please download and install the most recent Hotfix. At the time of this posting, the most recent Hotfix is Hotfix #6.

IMPORTANT: always remember to install the latest Hotfix -after- you have installed the basic True Patch Gold Edition. It is critical that you install the Hotfix afterward, so that it can replace any files from the basic TPG that may have been altered within the Hotfix. So just remember: install the TPG first, and the Hotfix second.

If you are using any TPG-compatible mods for Bloodlines, then you may need to re-install those mods after installing the latest Hotfix. It all depends on the mod itself. If your mod contains any altered map files, for example, then it may indeed be necessary to re-install that mod after you have installed the latest Hotfix. This is because the Hotfix likewise includes quite a few repaired map files. If you are uncertain as to whether there may be any conflicts between your mod and the TPG Hotfix, then the safest course of action is to simply patch and hotfix the game first, and then re-install the mod last.

I will post the download link and other pertinent information about our TPG Hotfixes within this thread.

This post may be updated as necessary, depending upon the release of future Hotfixes.

Each TPG Hotfix includes all previous Hotfixes within it. Installing the latest Hotfix is all
that you need to do, in order to bring your game fully up-to-date.

DO NOT SUBMIT BUG REPORTS WITHIN THIS THREAD. Please use the official TPG thread
for any bug reports that you may wish to submit.

*** TPG HOTFIX #6 -- RELEASED ***

There is a new hotfix available for the True Patch Gold Edition.

This hotfix has been designated as Hotfix #6 and it contains all of the previously released hotfixes, along with several new repairs.
Therefore, in addition to the TPG itself, this one Hotfix is all that you will require to bring your copy of Bloodlines fully up-to-date.
NOTE: if you are a new user of the True Patch, then please remember to install the True Patch Gold Edition first, and then install
this Hotfix #6 last. Be careful to install them in their correct order, otherwise game-breaking file corruption will result.

NOTE: After installing this Hotfix, the users of Tessera's VTMB Mega-Mod will need to re-install the Mega-Mod,
and then re-install its most recent Update. Failure to do so may cause problems for Mega-Mod users.

File size: 39 megabytes

In addition to all previous hotfixes, this latest hotfix includes the following repairs...

Notable repairs in Hotfix #6:

Some minor adjustments to several ground pathing nodes have been performed in various maps.
A fairly significant pathing issue inside the Asp Hole club has been repaired (it had to do
with NPC congestion happening on the stairs leading up to the second floor).

A couple of "interesting place" nodes inside the Asp Hole were malfunctioning in the plain-vanilla game.
Specifically, they were clipping into the furniture, causing the NPC's to become mis-located when they
attempted to use those areas. Also, the behaviors assigned to those places were incorrectly established
by Troika. Therefore, I have moved both of those places to new locations and I have also assigned
properly working behaviors to them. Neither of them are critical, but I wanted them to work properly.
Both of these nodes are located up on the second floor of the Asp Hole.

Several other minor map repairs have been performed inside the Asp Hole club in Hollywood.

A sound effect which was causing certain audio cards to experience problems has been adjusted.

Barabus will now despawn properly after the player has completed all of his quests and exited
the Fu Labs building (in Chinatown). Many thanks to Acrimonious.

Milligan will never get hung up on the furniture... never again. The "Milligan Bug" is no more.

Several female NPC's have had a minor texture repair done to their hair. Thank you for reminding me, Zeno.
I had been meaning to fix them a year ago, but I got completely side-tracked and forgot about them.

Several Kindred NPC's whose fangs were missing have been repaired, courtesy of DDLullu.

A minor adjustment to the "Haven Dance Mod" bundled in with the TPG has been performed.

A couple of malfunctioning triggers have been repaired on the Santa Monica Warehouse map.

Various other small map repairs, which are frankly too numerous to list.

All repairs were performed by Tessera, unless otherwise noted.

Full installation instructions can be found in the "ReadMe_NOW.txt" file which is included within this Hotfix.

Many thanks for your never-ending (but only when strictly necessary) support of this game. Cool

LOL... do I detect a hint of whimsy there, friend Cylnar..?    laugh

I know that there have been several Hotfixes in the past couple of months.
The truth is that I've just gotten back into "straight" (as in non-Mega-Mod)
VTMB after taking a six-month hiatus from the game... and I keep finding
all of these little leftover bugs that I wanna fix.

I'll try to spread them out a bit more in the future.  Tongue

Thanks for all of these hotfixes, you have been cranking them out faster than I get get through a play through of Bloodlines.  Luckily I am not that far on my current one so I don't mind starting over.

Not really. True, there have been a relative abundance of hotfixes lately, but I know they're all legit, not like the bugs Wesp creates in one patch then fixes in the next (maybe). So I was comparing your necessary (if not critical) fixes with Wesp's unnecessary and arbitrary mods. Wink

Dude, the True Patch has -never- added a new bug to Bloodlines and it never will, either. Not on my watch. I'll leave stupid shit like that to the amateurs.

But I am also conscious of what Tepes just said: every time I release a new Hotfix, it might force people to stop in the middle of their game and start over, due to the number of map repairs that each Hotfix contains.

So I apologize for that aspect and I will try to spread them out a bit more in the future. These are all just small repairs for the most part, anyway. All of the most critical bugs were already fixed by the TPG itself. I guess I've just been trying to get these little repairs sent out to the rest of you ASAP, so that I could go back to focusing on my other projects.

I don't know just about anyone who would complain with the fixes you post even if they are fairly common.  Lord knows I don't mind them at all.

Nobody is twisting folks arms to use the Hotfix right this very second. What i usually do is finish my current playthrough and keep the hotfix nearby for the next ones.

I'm on Win7.

The TPG did a pretty good job of ensuring Windows 7 compatibility for Bloodlines.   Grin

The only legitimate problems that I've been seeing these days are all coming from Steam users.
And we already know what the reason is: Bloodlines is NOT compatible with Steam. Not even a
little bit. The people at Steam won't tell you this... nor have they done a damned thing to make
their rotten service get along better with Bloodlines.

Fortunately, the TPG also allows everyone to completely liberate Bloodlines from Steam.
Complete instructions on how to do so can be found here:

http://www.tessmage.com/forum/index.php/topic,56857.msg80188.html#msg80188

I strongly recommend that all Steam users follow the advice contained within that post.
Not only will VTM: Bloodlines run better, but the rotten Steam service won't be able to
automatically try to re-patch the game (and in the process fuck it up completely).

In fact, I'm not even going to accept bug reports from Steam users anymore... not unless
they state beforehand that they have already moved VTMB completely away from Steam,
as per the instructions mentioned above. I'm not being a hard-ass... I'm being sensible.

Well don't slow down if you feel motivated to keep making fixes.  I know I can wait to finish a play though before applying the next hotfix.  I'm just at a point where I can wait, and my current play though was just a 2 hours into it.  Just do what makes you happy.

The only main reason I'm using Win7x64, is my XP Pro x64 crashed and burned with my HD.  It was a Seagate, it lasted over 8 years of hard work. My third one is for gaming, A friend of mine give me a 300gig WD Black HD to replace my sick Seagate if I can't get it to run. Moving right along, with the thread,  so far no problems with #6 on my Win7.

Hi I saw a bug in the original game . Your patches not fix it . When you a Tremere and maxed your skills in traning . I think you never finish it . Because it makes a bug . Dialog says use purge and kill them iron . But it's not working Smiley Thanks for the new hotfixes . They are really very good .

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, if you cheat your skills to be maxxed while you are still in the tutorial, it prevents you from moving forward?

Have you tried waiting till AFTER the tutorial to CHEAT?

I'd say it's not a bug.

It's not a bug.

Cheating is cheating. I don't even take cheating into account when I produce bug fixes. My job is to patch the LEGITIMATE game... not a hacked version of it.

If the player cheats and it causes problems as a result, then that's your own fault. So the obvious fix for it is: don't cheat. There's no need to.
