Americans NEED Public Health Care (video)
«
on:
September 08, 2009, 09:44:47 PM »
The insurance companies have spent approximately $30 million thus far to lobby (bribe and threaten) our elected "representatives" in Congress. A national
public option
is a direct threat to the medical insurance companies. They do not want to face the financial competition that a public option would present them with.
Note that there is a reason for why it is called a public OPTION. No one is talking about
forcing
Americans into government run health care. We are only talking about giving all Americans a CHOICE.
And the big insurance companies are trying very hard to prevent all of us from having that choice.
So if you see anyone on your TV, screaming and wailing about how we are supposedly "turning socialist," or how they "don't want to be forced into government run health care," then just IGNORE THAT IDIOTIC PROPAGANDA. No one is going to be forced into a public funded health care system... not if they prefer to remain in privately insured health care. Everyone will have a CHOICE -- and that includes the literally MILLIONS of Americans who have been TURNED DOWN or DROPPED by the large private insurance companies. Some of those people are dying...
literally dying...
because they are considered "uninsurable" and therefore, they can not receive proper medical treatment within the wealthiest country on Earth.
Okay... so then, what do the American people want..? Is there any kind of consensus out there..?
YES THERE IS A CONCENSUS. PLEASE WATCH THIS IMPORTANT NEW VIDEO:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GoFj8Fc9iM&feature=player_embedded
Many thanks to the band R.E.M., for providing the stirring music for that video.
Several national polls have been conducted regarding a public heatlh care plan. Those polls have been conducted by such diverse organizations as Zogby, The American Medical Association (AMA), CNN and various other prominent news organizations... and so forth.
When you average together the results of all of those polls, the result is this: that
83%
of Americans want a public option (government funded health care paid for by tax revenues). That is the actual truth, people.
Get the picture..? Big business doesn't care if you die. Neither do many of our elected officials, apparently. It's time for
everyone
to get up off their butts and start getting involved in grassroots efforts (like MoveOn.org) to TAKE YOUR COUNTRY BACK.

Politicians who are campaining against the public option should be asked a simple question: "If you don't want a public option, then why aren't you campaining for a repeal of Medicare?"... Of course the real answer is "Because I would never win another election in my life", but the weasel words they actually spewed could be amusing.

With that outburst that Joe Wilson (Republican) did, people are going for the health plan, EVEN the Republicans are
!?
going for it.
Wonders never cease.

Here's another good video, and also a place to sign a petition to Congress and add your support:

And yet another excellent (and satirical) video starring Wil Ferrel:

Another fine idea would be to tell ALL the politicians that THEIR free ride is OVER. Make them BUY their insurance AND their retirement plans!

Every single senator in Congress receives excellent health care coverage, which is paid for by the U.S. government. They get government run health care. Do you see any of them bitching about it..? I don't... I just see them bitching that if all of us get the same thing that THEY have, then it will somehow become evil.
Well, I want ALL Americans to be entitled to get exactly what those senators have. And I want our taxes to pay for it, just like our taxes pay for the senators' health care coverage.
The same senators who keep voting against giving US what THEY get at OUR expense. I want what they already got... and I want it to be paid for the same way.
How's that..?

Five Critical Flaws in the Senate Health Care Bill
The Senate bill would:
#1—Deny Americans the choice of a public option. In contrast, the House bill contains a national public option, the key to real competition, greater choice, and lower costs.
#2—Leave insurance unaffordable for some lower income and working people. Both bills require virtually all Americans to buy insurance. But even with the subsidies provided, some families could have to pay up to 20% of their income on health care expenses.
#3—Impose dangerous restrictions on women's reproductive health care. Unfortunately, both bills do this and the House provision is worse. Both versions would be a dangerous step and neither should be in the final bill.
#4—Tax American workers' health coverage to pay for reform. The Senate would pay for part of reform by taxing the hard-won benefits packages of some working Americans. The House, on the other hand, pays for reform with a small surcharge on only the wealthiest Americans—a far better approach.
#5—Allow insurance companies to remain exempt from anti-trust laws. Under current law, insurance companies are actually exempt from laws designed to prevent monopolies and price-gouging. The House bill would fix this, but the Senate bill leaves it in place.
