Just see the movie with Edmund O'Brien. Another thing, just think for a second, why are the corporations pushing for you to get the new TV sets and junking your old tube TVs.

SOPA and PIPA are a smoke screen. I have just told you what is actually at stake here and why they are so desperately trying to ram this up all of our asses. There is literally information on the web which could potentially topple governments. It is really THAT important. And the people who rule this world are trying to put a lock-down on that info, by seizing full control of any and all internet traffic... censoring it as needed... replacing some of those truths with disinformation... and in the process, denying the REAL truth from the rest of us. Selectively controlling the flow of information is the way that evil empires remain in power.
That's the real deal. And no, I am not wearing my tinfoil hat today. Believe it -- because it's the truth.
Same old story just in a different format. Who ever has the most control will make sure they keep it. This is nothing new to humanity. You have the apathetic, the ignorant, the unquestioning followers who will let it happen.
BTW I'm not saying that anyone here falls under the above but I'm asking you to look around and examine the people who inhabit the living territory that surrounds you. Sure these people can revolt and follow some lead in an angry mob but do they care or even know what they are fighting for?
Are we ready?
Is humanity ready to think for themselves and fight against those few that try to control them and make sure that it does not occur for the rest of human time?

It seems like the scumbag who proposed the SOPA has proposed another one. Lamar Smith made the "protecting children from internet pornographers Act 2011", which seems to force the Internet Service Providers to keep a record of all your browsing history for a year (at least). It also seems like this act has been already approved by a committee, and is in the pipeline for voting...
Seems like 2012 will be, in fact, really interesting... sigh...

You have the apathetic, the ignorant, the unquestioning followers who will let it happen.
If you ever doubt whether activism works, then remember this past week...
On Tuesday, we (BoldProgressives.org, MoveOn.org, Working Families party, etc.) fully supported a grassroots effort against two bills that would hurt Internet freedom (SOPA and PIPA).
In a special online briefing, sponsored by liberal activists, 200 congressional staffers crunched into a 100-person room while thousands of folks watched online and asked questions.
On Wednesday, Craigslist, Reddit, BoingBoing, Scribd, and over 240 other sites used our online activist tools, and together we made over 40,000 calls to Congress. Millions of others joined in online, and MSNBC's Rachel Maddow featured our activism that night.
On Thursday, it was reported that 18 new senators, and many House members, came out against the anti-Internet bill.
On Friday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made huge news by announcing, "In light of recent events, I have decided to postpone Tuesday's vote" on this draconian bill.
Get involved, people. There is strength in numbers... but not if you sit there on your worthless, lazy, cowardly asses and let
other
people do the fighting. STAND UP.

This is the time, this is the year, this will be time to be heard, there's no turning back, tell congress to either shape up, or ship out.
It may take a while to weed out the mess these fools did, BUT, vote, vote your hearts out. Cause if we don't, I don't have to say it, you know what will happen. when I was voting in the last election, there were people at the polls, bulling the voters to vote their guy in or they will hurt us, I said to them " Come on, Bring it on"!! face to face. and you know what they backed off.
We will see a lot of this, and you know what! We are going to fight, fight for our freedom, Cause without the people, congress is nothing, corporations are nothing without the people.
Thank-You for letting me rant and rave .

Seems like the Meaupload issue keeps growing... (I won't post the full image because it's too damn big in height).

(Link tio the video on Youtube:

)
For what I understood, USA was able to pull this shit through because Megaupload had some servers in the country... So yeah, I agree with the linked post in that a lot of business will remove themselves from American soil in fear of being "taken" for some bizarre reason. Of course, the big ones paying for this shit to go on will remain, and safe.
And now I wonder... was the world this fucked up five years ago, or it was just that we didn't know anything back then and suddenly everything is being revealed, like an infected wound filled with pus that finally exploded?
Why do I have the feeling that WWIII will be all the people on Earth against the "elites"... and how can I even believe they will have enough people ready to fight for them to make that a war instead of a lynching?

Yes and in fact, I was ranting about this stuff SIX YEARS ago, on this very web site. It's just that nobody paid any attention to me.
Quote
...or it was just that we didn't know anything back then and suddenly everything is being revealed..?
No, it's simply a matter of whether or not anyone was paying attention.
More often than not, nobody pays attention until these problems rise up and bite them in the ass.
Well, everyone is finally starting to feel those bites. Hence the greater amount of attention.
But these problems, as well as the facts surrounding them, have been in plain sight for decades.
So in the future, whenever you see me raving against this or that and issuing warnings to everyone, give me the benefit of a doubt. I'm not just some whacko who wears a tinfoil hat and likes to hear himself bitching all the time. These issues are REAL... they are REALLY HAPPENING... and all of us are going to get hurt REALLY BADLY if we don't join together and rise up against it.
Or... you can just complacently sit on your asses and wait for your lives to be destroyed. Your call. And it's also YOUR LIFE.

Yes, you are right Tess, I believe that I agreed with you, I also ranted and raved just like you. How long I have been here, "Gezz". I was even telling my wife back then, what was going to happen, She said, I have been reading or watching to many doom shows. Now she beginning to believe.
But, like I said before, it's an election year, and congress will tread carefully, after that ,,, it's anybody guess. There's a lot of wolves out there in sheep's clothing, ready to screw us.

Al Franken sold out.

Poland signs ACTA treaty
http://www.wbj.pl/article-57781-poland-signs-acta-treaty.html?typ=ise
Quote
Earlier this week, protests against Poland's planned signing of the ACTA treaty were held in a number of cities across the country with the biggest being in Kraków. Cyber attacks were also carried out on government websites by opponents of the treaty.
But Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the government “would not submit to blackmail” and that the treaty would be signed. He added, though, that “only when the government is sure that Polish law guarantees freedom on the internet, will we send the bill for ratification to parliament.” The treaty would also need to be ratified by the Polish president before becoming law.
“ACTA was accepted by countries who, like it or not, are the backbone of freedom in the whole world, namely the EU, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Korea and Mexico,” Poland's prime minister said.
I wonder how much longer till it gets to the point people are going to riot?

and that the treaty would be signed.
Interesting that he would refer to massive public outcry as "blackmail."
I would have called it "democracy in action." If the public does not want the government to do certain things, then the government should not do those things. Isn't that the way democracy is supposed to work..?
In a true democracy, the government is supposed to respond to the will of the people -- not the other way around.
His attitude is just one more indication that we are NOT living in a democracy. For him to use wording like "blackmail" shows us that he does not feel at all compelled to respond to massive public outcry and massive public pressure. So then, why are we still calling him the "Prime Minister" of Poland..? Shouldn't we change his official title to "Fuhrer" or "Premiere..?" Because that is precisely the way that he is behaving.
