Bye Bye, Hackers

After recently re-opening this website to the public, we have once again seen a few lame attempts to disrupt the tessmage.com server and its community... by Asian hackers, clueless Russian drunks, Czech chimps, Dutch dorks and various random jackasses using proxy servers.

So as of today, I have installed a TOTAL BLOCK upon literally THOUSANDS of IP addresses. These IP blocks have been installed in the HIGH-LEVEL area of the tessmage.com server, which means that YOU DON'T HAVE A FUCKING PRAYER of getting around these blocks, as they are located well above the "public_html" folder in the server hierarchy.


Specifically... the following regions have been blocked from this server, amongst others:

CHINA -- nearly the entire fucking country has been blocked, thanks to rampant hacker activity coming from China.
KOREA -- same as above, although not as restrictive. The Koreans are nowhere near as bad as the Chinese, so I have set things up accordingly.
MALAYSIA -- about half of the country is now blocked (the worst half).
THAILAND -- same as above.
VIET NAM -- same as above.
NETHERLANDS -- same as above.
CZECH REPUBLIC -- same as above.
RUSSIA -- same as above, but the least restricted of them all. Only specific IP's from Russia that I know to be malicious have been blocked.
NIGERIA -- just about every single IP address coming out of Nigeria has been blocked. Stupid, backwards, scheming assholes. Buh bye, Nigeria.
PROXY SITES -- several hundred proxy sites worldwide have been blocked. Lots of people like to hide behind proxy sites, so that they can browse the web anonymously (can not be traced). This is often used by hackers and other people with malicious intent, as well as by people who are simply trying to get around an IP ban that they received from some website or forum board. Well... I can't claim to have blocked all of those proxy sites, but I sure did put a huge dent in them.


The above listed blockages will remain in effect indefinitely. And any additional troublemakers that we discover in the future will be summarily added to that list.

Please do not send me any angry e-mails about this, either. If these blocks piss you off for some reason, then I suggest that you divert your anger towards the people who are truly responsible for these blocks: the worthless parasites who freely operate within the countries in question, as well as the local governments of those countries which do little or nothing to stop them.

ADDITIONAL NOTE REGARDING SERVER PERFORMANCE:

I don't want anyone to worry about our server performance, now that this rather massive blocking list has been installed into our high-level functions.

The fact of the matter is that tessmage.com is operating on a *very* high-speed private server. Unlike most other websites of our type, we do not reside upon a cheap "shared" server network. Nearly all of our server hardware is ours and ours alone... and it's a blisteringly fast LINUX server, folks. Whenever a user attempts to connect to the tessmage.com server, it takes about a half a millisecond (no shit) for our server to check their IP address against its master blocking list. We're talking FAST here -- so no worries. Even a massive network of assholes, all trying to bombard the server with requests at the same time, would still only manage to degrade our overall speed and response time by a negligible (very tiny) amount. The tessmage.com server hardware is vastly under-committed, even with all of the videos and graphics that we feature on this site... so I do not anticipate any significant performance issues of any kind as a result of these wide-ranging IP blocks.

So relax, kick off your shoes and enjoy your time here. I'm doing everything that I can to maintain a safe environment for all of our members, visitors and guests.

Oh... and as always... if you happen to spot any behavior on this site which appears to be questionable to you (including reports of anyone whom you suspect to be underage on this board), then do not hesitate to contact me either publically or privately. The situation in question will be investigated and handled very quickly, in accordance with the tessmage.com guidelines. That's a promise.
