One Way To Get Banned

Tonight, I had to ban four different members from this board.

The common reasons between them were:

(1) Use of multiple IP addresses on the same account. Although this could be innocent, it's also what spammers and hackers do. We don't permit it here.

(2) Non-routable, unverifiable or "bouncing" e-mail addresses. This is also very often a hallmark of malicious users and likewise, it is not allowed here.

Sorry about the bans, but I've already had a website hacked and/or harrassed in the past, so those accounts had to be terminated to be safe. The rules of this board have always been posted and they are quite clear. I am not responsible for the failure of certain individuals to read and understand those rules, but I am responsible for removing any offending accounts that have failed to adhere to those rules.

Please be sure that you enter complete and accurate information when you register for this board. We don't advertise, we don't send out any spam, nor do we send out anything at all, actually. However, my position is that people who need to hide their location from this website may be doing so because of some underlying malicious intent. I will therefore be forced to react accordingly, if and as such improper registrations are discovered.

Several new registrations were deleted this morning. The reason was the same for each of them: those people all registered using a "bouncing" e-mail address.

All members are required to provide working, legitimate and non-bouncing e-mail addresses when they register on this board. This is for your own protection, and for ours as well. Bogus e-mail addresses will not be tolerated, and those accounts can and will be deleted without prior notice. My attitude is a simple one: if you start right off by lying to me about your address, then I simply will not consider you to be a person of honest intentions. In such cases, your account will be terminated immediately.

This website does not send out spam or mass e-mailings. We are a non-commercial site, thus we do not share any e-mail lists with any other companies or websites. The reason that we require working e-mail addresses is in order to prevent spammers, hackers, commercial entities, bots and so forth from attempting to "invade" this board and cause havok with the rest of us. Another reason is to provide tessmage.com with plausible deniability, in the event that any minors attempt to register on an adults-only website. I can not prevent those kids from breaking our rules, but I can sure as hell track them down if they do anything that is out-of-line. In this way, I can inform their parents, or at the very least, I can state with certaintly that we did everything we needed to do on our end to enforce our own rules, thus it is out of my hands.

I am aware that mistakes sometimes happen. If your account was deleted for the reasons above, and you feel that this deletion was in error, then you can either re-register, using a 100% legitimate (and functioning) e-mail address, or else you can contact me via e-mail and explain your situation. Today, 8 more forum accounts were deleted by your's truly...

REASON: invalid e-mail addresses.


Let's try this slowly: You. Must. Register. With. A. Working. And. Valid. E-mail. Address.

I am notified automatically whenever someone registers with a non-functioning or bogus e-mail address.
Deleting those bogus accounts takes all of five seconds of my time. Please register properly for this board.

I have also banned another, long-standing account for 90 days. REASON: user was posting under no less
than 26 different IP addresses. I find that to be very suspicious.

I don't ask for much around here, folks... but I do expect people to have honest intentions when they use this board.
